CABE 2026 Workshop │ Battling Framework Fatigue: How administrators can build coherence for cross-functional teams

All too often, district leaders are expected to understand new initiatives, prioritize goals, and monitor progress. When this onus falls on local education agencies, their experiences can be characterized by confusion, disillusionment, and fatigue as they perceive shifting priorities and disconnected systems. This workshop will help leaders to make sense of California’s English Learner Roadmap by engaging the community schools perspective as a lens through which we can see systems change that impacts English Learner and newcomer students’ needs.
The session will be led by CLSX’s Karla Ruiz and Californians Together Director for Professional Learning Victoria Weiss.
