CABE 2026 Workshop │ Data for Justice: Lessons Learned from Advancing Equitable Multilingual Learner Student Policy

March 6 @ 1:45 pm - 2:45 pm PST
California Association for Bilingual Education

Transparent and accessible data is crucial to advancing multilingual education policy, but advocates across the country often face barriers to accessing the data needed to identify inequities and drive meaningful and lasting change. Utilizing California as a case study, this workshop will explore how data transparency fuels more equitable policies and supports for students. Participants will receive an overview of the history of English learner data disaggregation advocacy and how this has made it possible for additional supports for English learners across the state.

This workshop is led by Californians Together Associate Director of Policy Jeanette Gomez and EdTrust West Policy Analyst Roy Tongilava.

Room: Sierra K – Fifth Floor
