WASHINGTON– The Migration Policy Institute (MPI) on Thursday announced that Californians Together is one of four recipients of its 2012 E Pluribus Unum Prize for exceptional immigrant integration initiatives. To assist districts and agencies inimplementing the State Seal ofBiliteracy Recognition, we havescheduled a workshop in Southern California on February 28, 2012. We encourage district teams withan English Learner coordinator, curriculum specialist, board members, siteadministrators and teacher leaders to register. Teams will leave the workshopwith a draft implementation plan and many resources. An overview of the awards, criteria forgranting, and district step by step process for adopting the Seal of Biliteracyand/or local Biliteracy Pathway Awards will be presented.
