Safe, Supportive, & Welcoming Schools for Newcomers
November 20 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm PST

In times of stress and uncertainty, schools play a critical role in providing safety, stability, and belonging for newcomer students and their families. This session—designed for school and district practitioners—will offer practical guidance and policy updates to help educators create welcoming and informed school communities.
Join Californians Together and The Children’s Partnership to learn about:
- Policy and protocol updates for responding to immigration enforcement on or near school grounds
- Access to public benefits that support newcomer families’ health, nutrition, and stability
- Strategies for social-emotional support and effective communication with newcomer students and families
Together, we’ll explore how schools can uphold safety, trust, and inclusion for every child—no matter where they come from.
